Attend a pottery masterclass, make a nice and useful pot or cup, and enjoy the special vintage atmosphere of “Time Machine”!
The masterclass is a wonderful opportunity to get to know the world of clay and to spend time creatively with your family, friends or colleagues. It can also be an unforgettable adventure for a hen or stag party!
The works will be made in the ancient pinch pot technique. The designer and ceramic enthusiast Līna Lukstiņa will be your guide in the basics of hand-build pottery.
Making hand-built pottery contributes to positive feelings and helps eliminate emotional stress. Working with clay develops patience, finger agility and spatial thinking. To create a pot from a ball of clay is a time consuming process. Kneading. Smile. The meditative process of creation. Decorating. Signature. Joy. Drying. Waiting. Biscuit firing. Glazing. Glaze firing. Admiration and having pride in the result.
The finished works will be glazed with transparent glaze and fired, so they will remain in the workshop for about 1-2 months after the masterclass. After that, each participant of the masterclass will receive a finished pot!
If your pot breaks during firing, you have the opportunity to re-attend the masterclass at a discount of 50% and make a new pot.
No prior knowledge or skills required to participate!
The first masterclass will take place on Saturday, 12 June at 12.00.
In future, masterclasses will take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 17.00.
