Saturday, 22. July, from 10.00 to 15.00. 11.00-17.00 The regional event “Taste of Zemgale” will take place in our region. This year it will take place in Gluda municipality – in the place of adventure and inspiration “Future Park”. Visitors will have the opportunity to get to know 25 local producers, take part in exciting masterclasses, see a collection of antiques and aircraft, enjoy musical performances, watch a helicopter take to the skies and maybe even take a flight! Free entry.

Throughout the day, visitors will be able to enjoy traditional Zemgale flavours, as well as discover new and innovative products from local producers. Chips with hemp protein, dry ice cream, wholemeal bread, fresh pasta with vegetables, currant sweets, natural iced teas – these are just some of the products that will be offered by local producers.

The event will also include exciting masterclasses! “LOVE!” will introduce the use of vegan products, “SIM maize” will reveal the creation of unconventional and colourful bread, while the backyard farm “Kalnapočas” will show how summer raspberries can be transformed into a light summer dessert.

Everyone is also invited to listen to the discussion “Innovation in food production – for all or just for a few?”.

Arno Polītis, the owner of the delicious vegetable pasta “Color Pasta”, will share his experience as a small food producer and his journey towards an innovative product in cooperation with LIAA. Jānis Bērtulsons, the Jaunpils Milk Manager, will try to outline what innovations can be created in milk processing and – is it even necessary for such a classic product? Alma Bērziņa, the enthusiastic head of the Latvian Cattle Cooperative, will analyse the impact of the different campaigns – “Don’t eat the globe” and “Save the natural meadow” – on the existence of the beef cattle industry and the creation of innovative products. The discussion will be concluded by the company “MILZU!” the brainchild of Enno Ence, will share the elements every manufacturer needs to create sustainable competitiveness and the differences between changing trends and changing habits.

Ieva Sutugova, Ervīns Ramiņš, soloist of the band “Laime pilnīga”, and Dzintars Lipors, actor and musician, kokle player, will give musical performances, while Luīze Neila will perform a dance.

Every place has its own story, so when you visit “Future Park”, you should also take the opportunity to learn about its story. Visitors will be able to see the aircraft in the park and even board one of them, walk through the antique collection with various vintage items, see the retro motorcycle collection and board an old fire engine. Both young and old will enjoy it!

Helicopter flight!

At the end of the day, visitors will have the opportunity to watch a helicopter take off. And not only! One of the visitors will have the exclusive opportunity to fly in it the same day and enjoy the beautiful expanses of Zemgale from above. Come to the event, register, enjoy the day in a great atmosphere and by the end of the event you might be flying a helicopter!
