Currently, the Jelgava Region is working hard to open an attractive new tourist attraction – the adventure and inspiration place “Nākotnes Park” – in Nākotne, the former kolkhoz territory. The adventure and inspiration place “Future Park” is a 50-hectare area where families with children, groups of friends and colleagues, lovers and lovers of life, as well as everyone who loves a good rest will have an exciting time. “Park of the Future” is the shared passion of three friends, which quickly grew into a love for the place and its people, history and future. Everyone puts their heart into it, so you can feel it at every turn!

Relax in nature and enjoy the moment!

The apple orchard “Apple Trees and Bees”, which was planted 70 years ago, is a highlight of the “Park of the Future”. There are footpaths, a children’s playground, various shelters, seating areas, a sauna and several places to sleep. The Apple Garden will be a place to go for walks and discover the diversity of nature, organise picnics, parties and photo sessions, enjoy cinema evenings, masterclasses and concerts, organise art open-air workshops, reunions and other events. Here, holidays become holidays and holidays become an adventure!

Get in a time machine and travel back in time!

The repository of antiques and the “Time Machine” workshop offer to see the industrial vintage and retro collection of the enthusiastic collector Andris Karičkins and listen to his fascinating stories of antiques.

Pre-Soviet and Soviet household objects, industrial tools and machines, machinery, industrial lamps, scales and even early 20th century hairdressing salon equipment – these are just some of the antiquities that can already be seen in one place in the Time Machine. And there’s a special story behind almost every piece!

Learn new skills in workshops!

Various workshops will take place in the “Time Machine” workshop during the summer. If you like to do it yourself, be sure to stay tuned for the opening of the stained glass workshop, where everyone can make glass wind chimes, a fused glass pendant or a stylish brooch under the guidance of an experienced stained glass artist. It will be an exciting event for the whole family, a fun challenge at stag or hen parties and a bonding activity for colleagues.

Childhood memories for some, new revelations for others!

“An impressive retro motorcycle collection is already on display in Future Park. It consists of more than 40 pieces of vintage machinery – mopeds, motorbikes, minibikes and bicycles – from the days when the grass was greener and a moped, also known as a splash, was almost every boy’s dream. The collection includes almost all production bikes from the Riga motor factory “Sarkana zvezne”, as well as several exclusive Czech mopeds. But that’s not all! Soon you will also be able to see some Soviet-era cars and the bravest will be able to catch the wind on the motor track!

Secure flight for the future

The area also includes the Future Wings heliport and one of the few helicopter maintenance centres in Latvia. Here, aircraft from the Baltic States and even all over the world land, while highly qualified mechanics ensure safe flights. It seems that flying has always been one of man’s dreams. Compared to aeroplanes, helicopters are able to take off and land completely vertically and not only fly forwards, but also manoeuvre backwards and sideways. Does the sight of a helicopter take your breath away? Then head to Future Park, where helicopters often take off and land, and you might even get a chance to see one.
